  1. WWW - Sukhpal, you do begin to consider how features and conventions are used to convey meaning. You clearly identify the GAP and begin to analyse how the image is used to convey a representation. You begin to draw some links between features used.
EBI - I'm not sure the Lilly Allen article is a hip hop magazine. You must ensure that the articles you are analysing are from your chosen genre - Lilly Allen is pop and rock not hip hop.
You need to be careful with making generic comments and there are a few of these particularly when you are commenting on colour and font. Making it easy to read, and catching the reader's eye don't really add anything to your analysis. You need to consider why particular colours and fonts have been chosen in line with the genre. You need to focus on how the genre of hip hop is represented in these articles. What impression do you get of hip hop from the way these artists are presented. So you need to consider why certain colours seem to be more dominant amongst hip hop magazines, and this is why it's crucial you look at hip hop magazines.
You also need to read the articles and you need to consider what impression you get of the artists from the written article, and you then need to consider how this impression is supported and reinforced through the image, colours and the fonts used.
You need to make an overall comment about your findings so you can conclude which conventions and patterns seem to be evident in hip hop magazines. Do they use similar colour schemes? Do they use similar layouts and language in their articles? Do they use similar images/facial expressions/styles? What are the key features of hip hop DPS articles? Once these have been established, you will then need to consider using these in your own magazine so it looks like an authentic hip hop magazine.
